Period Was Only Mucus

prehistoric - The hidden orchestra

Once upon a time three years ago, a Chilean netlabel called Pandakill. In addition to New Orleans (the solo project of Milton Mahan of Denver), the label included Caramelitus, duo Camila Moreno -before solo album - and Thomas Preuss. And although the label never flourished, reached to share the couple's material its official website no longer exists. Those songs, haunting electronic atmospheres, were the first bites of the powers that both musicians, forked roads, prove over time.

After the failed step in the digital label, the male counterpart of the duo took the microphone to edit home in 2009 as a songwriter EP, entitled "The flames that burned my house." Sequenced, although with less emphasis on ethereal, the material gave hints about the ease with which the musician could convey vulnerability through his compositions and his voice weak. In turn, the MD setting another precedent for what would come later, especially with the theme 'History of Violence', now in a different version (renamed 'A New History of Violence') is the letter Thomas Preuss and his latest project.

"The hidden orchestra," the debut of prehistoric association born composer and singer Jessica Romo. A twist on the outline of his previous duo, Caramelitus in the spotlight now belongs to him and not her, and the machines are kept until further notice to get air into the acoustic guitar. Released last October, the album has been cheered wildly by pages that cover Latin American indie; some it overestimated among the vanguard of 2010 and compared other nationals work with Sigur Rós, because of the grief that floods its ten courts. Prehistoric

speaks of love in all the songs on his debut. Nothing special, if not for the rapid empathy that causes the album's lyrics, always airy and almost childish, like instrumentation without fanfare that accompanies them. "I got bored of you, your sweet secret of your trick of smiling , Thomas sings Preuss "I do not expect", as if for the first time someone says that a subject with such a deep conviction that it is contagious. A phenomenon that is repeated systematically over the plate, soak up the atmosphere of disturbing melancholy. Keep out of reach of tender.
